A 47-year-old Kissimmee man died in a crash Monday morning in Osceola County after suffering a medical episode while driving, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal wreck took place shortly after 8am on Stepping Stone Boulevard at Marigold Avenue in Kissimmee.

According to FHP, the driver suffered a medical episode causing him to run off the road, where the 2010 Ford Crown Victoria he was driving struck a tree, ejecting him from the car. The car then rotated counter-clockwise and struck the man, who was pronounced dead the scene.

A 36-year-old Kissimmee woman and a 3-year-old boy,  who were passengers in the car, were taken to HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the FHP crash report.

None of the victims was wearing a seat belt, according to FHP.
