A 6-year-old girl was struck and killed Wednesday morning as her mother was backing out of their driveway in St. Cloud, according to police.
St. Cloud police and Fire Rescue quickly responded to a home in the area of Thistle Lane and Plymouth Turtle Way, north of St. Cloud Royal Golf Links just after 7:30 a.m. then transported the child to Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital where she sadly was pronounced dead just before 10am, according to the St. Cloud Police Department.
According to the Osceola County School District, the child was a student at Michigan Avenue Elementary in St. Cloud.
The incident is still under investigation by the St. Cloud Police Department, and at this time no definitive cause has been determined or charges have been filed.
