Osceola County Sheriff’s investigators have made an arrest in a May 29 shooting in the North Pointe Subdivision in Kissimmee.

Dashawn Elijah Brown,23, was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted felony murder and burglary of an occupied dwelling.

On May 29, 2020 at 7:23 p.m. the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting in
the North Pointe subdivision. The victim exited their residence to walk their dog when the victim observed a small vehicle stop in front of the residence and a black male exit the same vehicle and enter the victim’s garage . The victim ran back to the house and confronted the suspect who was inside one of the vehicles parked in the garage. After confronting the suspect, a struggle ensued and the suspect stated, “I have a gun and I will kill you if you don’t let me go.”

The suspect produced a handgun and, during the struggle, the victim was shot in the back of the head. The suspect fled the residence and the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The victim
was not seriously injured.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified Brown as the suspect, and also identified the vehicle driver, who was located and cooperated with the investigation.  On Tuesday, Brown was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the area of West U.S. Highway 192 and Poinciana Boulevard. He is being held with no bond at the Osceola County Jail.
