Florida’s largest homeowners association, The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV), recently honored winners of its home beautification program at the Poinciana Beautiful Awards Gala at the Poinciana Community Center. This 1920s-themed gala and awards ceremony was attended by more than 250 APV homeowners and community members and served as an opportunity to honor homeowners who have kept their home’s exterior well maintained and cared for.
Guests walked the red carpet and enjoyed delicious food and incredible entertainment in the gorgeous candlelit setting. Carol Saragusa, an actress with Walt Disney World’s Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and The American Idol Experience, served as the evening’s emcee and Central Florida band Blender kept the dance floor full with their live music. Many guests also received gift cards and gift baskets as door prizes.
“Congratulations to all of the winners and finalists! Everyone in Poinciana is a winner when we work to keep our community beautiful,” said Mark Maldonado, General Manager of APV. “The home beautification program continues to grow each year and has quickly become one of our most popular events. We are excited to see what the homeowners have in store for our judges next year.”
The APV home beautification program is open to all APV residents. One homeowner from each participating village is selected as a winner. During the awards gala, each winner received a beautiful plaque, a year-long family membership to the APV community pool, and a sign to place in their yard for the year. This year, APV received more than 125 submissions competing for “Home of the Year” in their village.

The Association of Poinciana Villages first launched the program in 2016 as a way to encourage residents to take pride in their properties. APV immediately saw that residents started seeing the improvements their neighbors were making and, in the true spirit of competition, wanted to make their own home look equally as nice. The improvements to the homes also help to increase property values, increase sales and encourage developers and businesses to consider the community as a place to successfully invest.
