A 59-year-old bicyclist from West Palm Beach died after being struck by a car on Sunday morning in Osceola County, according to FHP. The fatal accident took place around just before 9 a.m. on Florence Villa Grove Road near Westside Boulevard.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, both the bicyclist and a Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 24-year-old man from South Carolina, were traveling east on Florence Villa Grove Road. The driver of the Malibu failed to maintain his lane, causing the front of the vehicle to strike the back of the bicycle.

The injured bicyclist was transported to Orlando Health South Lake Four Corners where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Malibu and his two passengers were not injured and remained at the scene, troopers said. The fatal accident is currently under investigation.
