St. Cloud scored six times with two outs and senior Addison Felblinger pitched a three-hit shutout to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 7-0 win over Harmony in the 2026 Orange Belt Conference Championship softball game on Monday night at Mike Clark Field.

It was the Bulldogs second straight OBC crown and gave them six of the last 11 championships.

“Really proud of our team. It’s really hard to beat rivals in back-to-back games and we accomplished that tonight,” St. Cloud head coach Ray Whobrey said as his team was coming off a 6-0 semifinal win over rival Osceola in Friday’s semifinal. “Emotions can run pretty high in these games we kept our composure and did the little things really well.”

Those little things included using St. Cloud’s team speed to leg out five infield hits in the game. Four of those runners would come around to score as the Lady Bulldogs also scored six times with two outs.

The first run came in the second, as Shyenne Hawkins delivered a two-out, run-scoring double to plate Jaz Santiago, who opened the inning with a walk. St. Cloud took a 3-0 lead in the third, again scoring twice with two outs. Freshman Zhyra De La Cruz had an RBI triple and would later score on Felblinger’s infield hit.

With two outs in the fifth, Jaidah Kelly – another freshman – reached on a single and scored on Madelis Reyes’ RBI triple. Reyes came around to score on Grace Comiskey’s third hit of the game.

De La Cruz, who finished with a game-high three RBI, capped the scoring with a two-run single in the sixth – again with two outs. “We have good team speed and it definitely helped us tonight,” Whobrey noted. “We kept some innings alive with infield hits and then got some key two-out hits.”

While St. Cloud’s offense was cooking, Felblinger was in complete control on the mound. The senior only gave up three bloop hits, struck out seven, and did not walk a batter. She retired 13 of the last 14 batters she faced and only gave up two hard-hit balls all game – both which were corralled by centerfielder Comiskey for outs.

“My curve ball was really working for me tonight,” the senior said. “We had some timely hits and my defense made plays behind me all night. We came in with a great game plan and were able to execute it.”

In other action Monday night, Osceola defeated Tohopekaliga in the third place OBC game, 7-2, as Tensely Dawson and Samantha Edwards combined for five RBI.

Nine playing days remain in the regular season before district tournaments start April 27. “We have a really young team and have had a lot of injuries this season,” Whobrey added. “We’re starting to get healthy and this was probably the most complete game we played this season. Hopefully it is something we can build off of as we get ready for the post-season.”

With the win, Osceola (2-0) advances to its second consecutive conference finals appearance and will host the Greensboro Swarm on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET at Osceola Heritage Park.

Guard Reece Beekman delivered a breakout performance, pouring in a career-high 26 points on an efficient 8-of-11 shooting night, leading a balanced Magic attack. Colin Castleton added 22 points, while Javonte Smart and Lester Quiñones each contributed 17 in a well-rounded offensive effort.

Motor City was led by Chaz Lanier’s game-high 27 points, with Wendell Moore Jr. close behind at 26. Tolu Smith III anchored the paint with a 14-point, 12-rebound double-double.

The semifinal clash lived up to its billing, with neither team able to create separation. The Cruise carried a narrow 56-53 lead into halftime behind Moore Jr.’s strong first-half showing.

Osceola responded in the third quarter, outscoring Motor City to even the contest at 92-92 heading into the final period. The tension only escalated in the fourth, as the Cruise briefly reclaimed a two-point lead with just over three minutes remaining.

That’s when Beekman took over.

The standout guard drilled a clutch three-pointer to swing momentum back in Osceola’s favor—an advantage the Magic would not relinquish. Timely stops and composed execution down the stretch sealed the victory, sending the home crowd into celebration.

Now, with momentum on their side, the Magic turn their attention to the Eastern Conference Finals, where a trip to the G League Finals hangs in the balance.

Tip-off is set for Sunday night in Kissimmee.

CELEBRATION, FL – Junior Trevin Bean allowed one run and scattered seven hits over six innings of work to lead Harmony to the 2026 Orange Belt Conference baseball championship with an 8-1 win over rival St. Cloud on Friday night.

Despite giving up three hits and a run in the first frame, Bean was masterful the rest of the way – giving up just four singles without allowing a walk. His 18 recorded outs came via either strikeout (7) or groundout (9).

“My change-up was really on tonight,” Bean said. “I always have a lot of confidence with the defense I have behind me, and they were great again tonight. I was able to get hitters to beat a lot of balls into the ground tonight and my defense just did the rest.”

Trailing early 1-0, Harmony would score all the runs they would need in the fourth – sending nine men to the plate and scoring four runs. Angel Medina and Sebastian Tabares led off the rally with back-to-back singles before Chase Bartlett loaded the bases with a bunt single. Pinch-hitter Shawn Barbrant brought home the tying run by drawing a walk off St. Cloud starter Jack Ewalt.

Harmony went ahead on Jose Scrofani’s bunt single and Bartlett scored on Yadiel Perez’s groundout. The Longhorns added a run on a wild pitch to make it 4-1. They plated an insurance run in the fifth as Medina walked, stole second and third and scored on Bartlett’s ground out.

With Bean in control, Harmony added two more on an Elijah Ramirez single in the sixth and capped the scoring on Brabant’s RBI double in the seventh.

With the victory, Harmony won for fifth time in their last six games and moved to 13-8 on the season. They also became just the second team in 46 years to win four straight Orange Belt Conference championships – matching the 2005-08 Osceola team.

“We’re starting to play some pretty good baseball,” Longhorns’ coach Heath Williams said. “Tonight was probably the best overall game we have played this year. We didn’t have a lot of experience coming back this season and we had everyone sort of doing their own thing. Over the last couple of weeks, a light sort of went off and these guys started to understand the importance of doing the little things right – stealing a base, moving a runner over, not falling behind in counts.”

Williams added he was really pleased with Bean’s performance. “He had a rough start this year.” he said of Bean, who entered the game with a 6.82 ERA. “Tonight he looked like a lot more like his sophomore year, when he was one of our top pitchers.”

St. Cloud fell to 16-5 on the year, coming up one game short of winning their first OBC title since 2003. “We were a little flat tonight, and that’s going to happen in this game,” St. Cloud coach David Blackmore said. “Give them the credit, they played a good game and he (Bean) pitched a solid game. We’re 1-1 against them this season (the Bulldogs beat Harmony 3-2 back on March 6) and they are in our district so hopefully we will get another shot at them in the post-season.”

Nathan Bianco, Jose Alvarado, and Adrian Carradero had two hits each for St. Cloud. Ewalt struck out five in his 3.2 inning stint.

The St. Cloud boys weightlifting team joined its girls’ team as Orange Belt Conference 2025-26 champions – easily outdistancing Harmony for their fifth consecutive conference title. Last fall, the Lady Bulldogs won their 15th straight championship.

It was a dominating performance for St. Cloud, who won 15 of 20 individual titles and saw 26 of its 27 lifters score team points.

“Our guys had an outstanding meet overall,” Bulldogs Head Coach Cory Aun said. “We won two traditional individual titles, I wasn’t expecting to win and we also had two other lifters just miss their final lifts or we would have had two more individual titles. What made the showing more impressive was that the overall competition was pretty intense, as Harmony, Poinciana and Celebration had some great lifters and pretty good team depth.”

Overall, St. Cloud posted seven of the 10 weight classes in the Olympic discipline (clean-and-jerk plus snatch) and eight of the 10 in the Traditional (clean-and-jerk plus bench press). Their 198 total team points topped second place Harmony (92). Poinciana (66) was third and Celebration (35) fourth. Liberty (20), Osceola (19), Tohopekaliga (4) and Gateway (3) rounded out the team scoring.

St. Cloud had five double gold medalists in the championships included Ayden Lopez (119-lb. weight class), Jayden Green (129), Santos Torres (139), Jaden Perez (183) and Mauricio Cuello Vega (238).

Jason Isaraphanich (154) and Tyler Hamilton (219) were the other Olympic champions for St. Cloud; while Demetrius Hollinsworth (154), Gadiel Dionisi (169) and Tristan Burnash (UNL) won Traditional titles for the Bulldogs.

Outstanding individual efforts included Perez, who broke his own school record in the snatch with a 250-lb. lift; as well as Dionisi and Burnash both had to come from behind on their final bench presses – hitting 260 and 305 pounds respectively – to secure Traditional titles.

Harmony and Celebration posted the other individual OBC Champions. Celebration’s Matt Murwasky, competing in the 199-lb. weight class, was also a double winner. The Storm athlete put together successful lifts of 255 (Clean-and-Jerk) and 300 (Bench) to win the Traditional by 35 pounds. He came back with a 185-lb. effort in the snatch to win the Olympic (185-255-440) by 15 pounds over his closest competitor. Storm teammate George Taruru (219-Traditional), joined Harmony’s Mehki Ealy (Unlimited-Olympic) and Bryce Berry (169-Olympic) as the other individual championships.

OBC’s marked the end of the regular season. Districts will be contested next week; with Regionals (Apr. 22-25) and the FHSAA State Championships (May 6-8) to follow. “Winning the conference title was awesome, but from this point forward we will concentrate on getting as many lifters as possible through districts and regionals,” Aun added. “We have a couple of athletes right now that are ranked in the top three in the state.”

As a head coach, his overall record was 153-23 and included 10 district championships, eight regional titles, five trips to the state championship games and four consecutive state titles from 2021-24.

During the run of state championships, Phoebus won 51 consecutive games under Blunt – just one short of the Virginia High School State record. Those numbers become more impressive when the Phoebus schedule is taken into consideration. Blunt was never afraid to schedule out-of-district games against Virginia’s best during the season – facing state powers DeMatha, Oscar Smith and Highland Springs on a regular basis.

Blunt, who spent his life in the Hampton, Va. area, graduated from Phoebus High (2002) and Hampton University (2008). He said stepping down from Phoebus was the hardest decision of his life. “I have a brother who lives in the Central Florida and we have visited down here numerous times and love the area,” Blunt said. “But it was extremely difficult to leave Phoebus. It’s a decision I struggled to make, not just because of the success we had in football, but because of the young men in the program, the parents, my assistants, the school administration and the community that we are leaving. In all my years there, they were nothing but loving and supportive of my family and me.”

Still. Blunt said that he never felt staying at Phoebus for his entire career was an “end all, be all” situation from him. “I have always liked challenges and knew I wanted to eventually move on.” He just didn’t know whether it would be at a high school or college –where he had offers over the years.

Blunt will be stepping into a whole new world, as he leaves a powerhouse program that has won state championships as a player, assistant coach and head coach to a school that has never played a game.

He will start a program that will not have a senior class in his first year and will play as an independent in both 2026 and 2027, Blunt says that the opportunity to build a program from scratch in Central Florida area was “too appealing to turn down.”

“The area has some great football players and coaches,” Blunt said. “I did some research and know about Osceola High and the great success they have had. We’re going to hit the ground running, work hard and look forward to competing with all the area’s best in a few years.”

Photos Courtesy Davidson Athletics

For the first time in Osceola High School wrestling history, a Kowboy has the chance to earn Division-I All-America honors—and 2024 graduate and three-time state champion Anderson Heap will take his shot this weekend at the NCAA Championships at Rocket Mortgage Arena in Cleveland. A top eight finish at nationals would secure Heap All-America status.

He automatically qualified for the tournament by winning the Southern Conference (SoCo) 149-lb. championship with a thrilling 8-5 sudden-victory overtime decision over Citadel’s Carson DesRosier.

It was his second decision in a month over DesRosier, beating him in overtime in a dual meet two weeks earlier. And although Heap could have still made the NCAA Tournament with an at-large bid, he felt it necessary to win the SoCo tournament and remove any guess work.

“Our conference is not considered one the top ones in the country and is given just one automatic bid to nationals. There was a chance I still could have got an at-large bid, but I certainly did not want to rely on that process. I felt winning the conference tournament was a must but I knew it would not be easy,” Heap said. “Carson is a gritty, tough competitor. He’s smart and seldom makes mistakes. I liked my chances but still felt some pressure.”

While just making the NCAA field of 33 is a tremendous accomplishment, Heap (20-9) – who is seeded 26th overall for the tournament and will face North Dakota State’s Max Peterson in the first round — says the goal is to become Osceola’s first Division-1 All-American.

Heap joins five other former Osceola High wrestlers who have made it to the NCAA Tournament. They have included Malyke Hines (Lehigh); Joe Locksmith (US Naval Academy); and Javier Maldonado, Levi Clemons, and Nikko Brown (all who competed for the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga). Maldonado came the closest to reaching All-America status, making it to the final 12 his senior year.

“It’s so hard to even get to the tournament and I think some of the lower seed guys who make it are happy with that just sort of check out,” Heap said. “For me, I want to make it to the podium (top eight finish) earn All-America, it’s a lofty goal and there’s so many great wrestlers at the tournament, but my attitude is anything can happen.”

Heap, who led Davidson with 19 wins as a freshman and now has 39 in his career, has already made some history. He is the first Wildcat wrestler in 11 years to advance to the NCAA Tournament and was the school’s only Southern Conference champion this season. Heap played a major role in helping Davidson to its highest conference finish (4th) in 59 years.

He says the adjustment from high school to college wrestling was a difficult one to make. Unlike football, where there are 777 teams at the college level, there are roughly only 350 college wrestling teams. Not only is the competition for roster spaces tougher, but the style is different.

“The overall talent level is so much tougher at this level but how the matches are competed is different. You’re required to concentrate on your technique and rely on your defense a lot more. Every point is critical and you don’t see a lot of pins, technical falls or major decisions. There’s a lot more matches that end in final scores of 2-1 and 3-2 instead. It really took me a year to get used to the college style.”

Although he becomes just the sixth former Kowboy wrestler to make it to nationals, he was almost joined this week by two former teammates Cooper Hasse and Gunner Holland. The trio, who won nine state championships between them. where labeled “Triple H” at Osceola. In their final season together in 2023, Haase and Heap took state titles; while Holland was second.

Haase would enroll at the Military Academy Prep School and as a sophomore this year he led Army in both matches wrestled (36) and wins (22). By finishing fourth in the Eastern Intercollegiate Westling Association Tournament, he came up just one win short of automatic NCAA qualification; as did Holland – who finished second for Arkansas Little-Rock at the Pac-10 Championships.

“I still talk to those guys a lot,” Heap said. “I’m proud of their successes this season and it would have been great to have all three of us at the tournament.”

Former Osceola Coach Rick Tribit says the success of the three, especially Heap, does not surprise him. “When he was in our youth programs, he probably went a year without a win, but rather than being discouraged, he kept coming back and worked harder, He knows how to handle adversity. Back in high school, Anderson became a really good technical wrestler. Add in his intelligence and I knew it would serve him well at the next level, Overall, I believe he has beaten five ranked opponents this year, so anything is possible this week,” Tribit said. “I’m super proud of all three of those guys. They are all making their mark on the college wrestling scene.”

Martha “Smalls” Edwards (2021-25), was the last freshman quarterback to start for the Harmony varsity flag football team. She would go on to claim four straight OBC championships and take four straight Osceola County Player of the Year Awards in leading the Horn to four regional appearances. Longhorns coach Paul Strauch can only smile when asked he may found a freshman replacement for Edwards.

On Thursday night, nine-grader Ivy Munns completed 19 of 41 passes for 181 yards and four touchdowns – including a 10-yarder to Khloe Cook-Osani in overtime – to give Harmony a 26-20 overtime win over Celebration in the championship game of the 2026 Orange Belt Conference Tournament.

For Harmony, now 8-1, it was their sixth straight OBC Championship, 8th in 10 years and 15th overall. Celebration, who came into the tournament as the number two seed, fell to 8-1.

“Because the first state rankings hadn’t come out yet, they used last year’s final rankings to seed for the OBC Tournament. I will be absolutely honest, Celebration should have been the top seed. They were undefeated and easily beat East Bay, who handed us our loss this year,” Strauch said. “That is a good team over there, that just plain whipped us in the first half tonight.”

That was certainly an understatement.

While Munns struggled with two interceptions and just 20 passing yards in the first half, Celebration was busy scoring three touchdowns and taking a 20-0 first half lead. Junior quarterback Isabel Meadows threw for one touchdown and ran for two more in the half.

Meadows went four for five on her first drive, calling her own number from two yards out for the first score of the game. A 20-yard pass to Genisis Rodriguez and an 18-yarder to Isabella Mafra were the big plays of the drive. A Storm interception set up a Meadows to Nayeli Rivera 8-yard touchdown pass and Meadows would cap the first-half onslaught with a 1-yard run to make it 20-0.

Although the Longhorns would go on a long, time-consuming drive to open the third quarter, it would end with three straight incompletions inside the Storm 10 as Harmony turned the ball over on downs.

“We made a ton of mistakes in the first half and in that opening drive of the third, but give Celebration a lot of credit, they were kicking our butts,” Harmony coach Paul Strauch said. “I saw a lot of our heads hanging at halftime but our message to the players was simple, this game is not over and let’s just take it one play at a time.”

The comeback would start in earnest on the next possession. The Longhorns would return an interception to the Celebration 2 and three plays later Munns would hit Ella Husbands for a score to cut the gap to 20-6.

After forcing a punt at the end of the third quarter, Munns would hit Husbands on a 31-yard bomb to the Celebration two. One play later, Hubands caught a deflected ball for a touchdown and an Avery Jones conversion made it 20-13.

On the game’s next possession, Celebration elected to punt on a fourth and four play. Taking over on its own 17, a couple of short passes followed by a 33-yard reception by Husbands gave Harmony the ball on the Storm 14 with time running down.

Two dropped passes were followed by a Genesis Rodriguez pass defense in the end the zone – giving Harmony a fourth and goal from the 14. Celebration appeared to weather the Storm and potentially win the game when a Munn’s four down pass fell incomplete but they were called for defensive holding on the play – giving the Longhorns new life with a 4th and goal from the seven. Munns found Cook-Osani on a crossing pattern and another conversion to Jones tied the score at 20-20 at the end of regulation.

In varsity flag, each team is given four plays to score from the 10 in overtime with the option of going for 1, 2 or 3 extra points. Celebration would get the ball first and appeared to score on its second play. but the touchdown was called for an illegal contact block against a rusher that pushed the ball back to the 11. Meadows would misfire on three straight plays and Munns would hit Cook-Osani on the Horns first play of overtime for the game-winner.

“Extremely proud of how our kids fought back tonight, but we were fortunate to escape with the win,” Strauch said. “We take the ball in the second half and fail to score. We had some more drops. We got a call on a fourth-down play that gave us another chance to score a touchdown to get within one and then we get a conversion on a tipped ball where our receiver ripped it from a defenders hand. Celebration is a terrific team, they are in our district and I know we will see them at least one more time in the playoffs.”

Score by Quarters 1st 2nd 3rd 4th OT — Final

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The Kissimmee Chain of Lakes once again proved why it’s one of Florida’s premier bass fisheries as professional angler Alec Morrison of Peru, New York, delivered a record-breaking performance to win the Toyota Series event on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes.

Morrison dominated the three-day tournament, hauling in 15 bass weighing a total of 90 pounds, 14 ounces, shattering the Major League Fishing (MLF) record for a five-fish-limit tournament on the Kissimmee Chain. His winning total surpassed the previous mark of 85 pounds, 12 ounces and secured him the tournament’s $40,500 top prize.

The victory was sealed with a massive Day 3 catch of 37 pounds, 1 ounce, which also set a new single-day MLF weight record on the Kissimmee Chain.

Finishing second was Brody Campbell of Oxford, Ohio, who weighed in 75 pounds over three days.

Morrison’s strategy focused on targeting bass transitioning away from shallow spawning areas and staging along travel routes in deeper water.

“I was hardcore ‘Scopin’,” Morrison said, referring to his use of forward-facing sonar technology. “Those three hours a day were by far the most important for me.”

Tournament rules allowed anglers three hours per day of forward-facing sonar use, and Morrison used that time to locate large bass moving along what he described as “highways” between spawning grounds and staging areas.

While many anglers focused on fishing grass beds where bass had been spawning earlier in the week, Morrison stayed away from those areas.

“A lot of guys this week were going back to the grass, and their fish were depleting,” Morrison said. “I stayed out of the grass and tried to stay around the biggest ones all week.”

Fishing primarily in less than six feet of water, Morrison used several baits throughout the tournament, including a shallow-running jerkbait designed specifically for Florida’s shallow fisheries.

Among his key lures was the Megabass Vision 110 SR, a jerkbait that dives no deeper than four feet — ideal for the shallow vegetation common in Florida lakes.

After shifting away from his primary spot on Day 2, Morrison returned to the area on the final day and quickly filled out a massive bag.

“I basically rolled up and had the weight I did within the first hour and a half — it was pretty magical,” he said.

His catch included several large bass, including an 8-pound, 4-ounce fish that helped power his record-setting total.

Morrison noted that most of the fish he caught were prespawn staging bass and postspawn fish leaving the grass beds, rather than fish actively spawning.

Over the past few years, Morrison has spent considerable time fishing in Florida, often staying with fellow pro Garrett Rocamora of Lake Wales, who finished sixth in the tournament.

Together, the two anglers have spent years studying how bass move through the shallow lakes of Central Florida.

“We’ve spent a lot of time on this lake,” Morrison said. “Over the past few years we’ve blended what we’ve learned, and it’s been something special.”

With the victory, Morrison qualified for the Toyota Series Championship on Pickwick Lake in Tennessee this November, where anglers will compete for a top prize of up to $235,000 and a berth in REDCREST 2027.

The three-day tournament was hosted by Experience Kissimmee and served as the second stop of the Toyota Series Southern Division season.

For Morrison, the victory represents both a personal milestone and validation for the countless hours spent traveling and competing across the country.

“There’s a lot of ups and downs,” Morrison said. “I basically live in my truck, and a win like this makes up for a lot of those downs.”
