On Friday, February 22, 2019, the Honorable Christine E. Arendas along with the Honorable Gabrielle N. Sanders were sworn in as judges of the Osceola County Court. The Investiture Ceremony was held at the Osceola County Courthouse. The investiture is a very important event for these women, it’s the ceremonial signing in of a judge, an official installation.

Christine E. Arendas grew up in Central Florida. Arendas and her family moved to Osceola County in 2006 when her husband, Kurt was assigned to Osceola County, where he finished out his career as a state law enforcement officer.  Actively involved in the community, she volunteers her time with schools and the Osceola County Teen Court. Arendas also serves on the board of directors for the Community Hope Center, IDignity Osceola, Legal Aid Society of Osceola, Florida Adoption Council, and Central Florida Family Law Inns of Court. She is also serving on the Ninth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee and Ninth Judicial Circuit Professionalism Committee. Her willingness to give and support the community is inspiring.

Newly appointed Honorable Judge Arendas obtained her Associate in Arts degree at Brevard of Central Florida receiving her Bachelors in Science Business Administration with a focus on Economics with honors in 2002. She continued to Barry University School Orlando School of Law, obtaining her juris doctorate in 2006.

Following an extensive career as a paralegal, Ms. Arendas was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2006. She was admitted to the US Middle District Court in 2008 and the US Supreme Court in 2017. In 2013, Ms. Arendas achieved her board certification in Adoption Law (1 of 28) by the Florida Bar. Ms. Arendas focuses her current practice on adoption, surrogacy, family matters, guardianships and probate. She is a Fellow with the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproductive Attorneys.  She served as the Executive Director of A Chosen Child, Inc (a licensed non-profit child-placing agency) from 2014 to 2017. She lectures on issues of adoption and surrogacy in workshops, seminars, meetings and in-service trainings. She loves to teach and has served as a guest lecturer and as an adjunct professor at Barry University Orlando School of Law. She obtained certification as a Florida Supreme Court Circuit Civil Mediator in 2009, and has mediated matters involving foreclosure, debt collections, small claims, probate and adoption.

During the Investiture Ceremony, the Oath of Office was presented by Honorable Stefania C. Jancewiez Ninth Judicial Court, while Kurt, Clair, and Cole participated in the enrobing portion of the ceremony.

Time, dedication, and the drive to make a difference in the world has brought Christine E. Arendas to preside over the trails that come before her while she sits on the bench at the Osceola County Courthouse.
