Families can also learn about Osceola Library System services\, register for a free library card\, and enjoy fun\, hands-on STEAM activities for all ages.\n Friday\, July 31\, 2026  9 a.m. – 11 a.m.  Hart Memorial Library 211 E. Dakin Avenue Kissimmee\, FL 34741\nBackpacks and supplies will be available for the first 400 K-12 students\, while supplies last.\nPlease note:  Students must be present to receive supplies.  Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. SUMMARY:International Lifeguard Appreciation Day — Let’s Celebrate!
DESCRIPTION:International Lifeguard Appreciation Day is celebrated on July 31st each year. This day honors the dedicated lifeguards who ensure safety at beaches\, pools\, and water parks. Lifeguards perform essential roles\, including preventing accidents by monitoring swimmers\, providing first aid\, and responding to life-threatening emergencies when duty calls.\nPlease join us on Friday\, July 31st\, at 1 PM for a friendly competition between our residents vs the lifeguards at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center.\nActivities include:– Volleyball with a twist– Do you think you’re faster than a lifeguard race?– Tube Relays– Cannonball contests– Cardboard boat regatta– And a huge inflatable water obstacle course\nNormal admission is required to enter the facility\, but anyone can participate and play!\nIf competition is not your thing\, you can show appreciation by leaving a message for a guard or two on our gratitude wall.\nThe best way to show your appreciation to a lifeguard is to follow the facility rules\, keep an eye on your children or weak swimmers\, and willingly follow lifeguard instructions.\nCome have some fun in the sun with us!
