OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Motorists traveling near the Walt Disney World area should prepare for overnight traffic changes beginning tonight as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) temporarily closes the Interstate 4 westbound on-ramp from World Drive.

According to FDOT, the ramp will be closed nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Sunday, March 8, through Thursday, March 19, to allow crews to complete drainage operations and shoulder work.

During the overnight closures, drivers seeking access to I-4 westbound toward Tampa will need to follow posted detours.

Motorists traveling southbound on World Drive should exit toward U.S. 192 toward I-4 East – Orlando, then keep left to merge onto U.S. 192 eastbound toward Orlando/Kissimmee. Drivers should continue eastbound on U.S. 192 and take the exit for I-4 toward Orlando/Tampa, then keep right to merge onto I-4 westbound toward Tampa.

Drivers traveling northbound on World Drive should take the exit to U.S. 192 East toward Kissimmee, continue eastbound on U.S. 192, and keep right to take the exit for I-4 toward Orlando/Tampa, merging onto I-4 westbound toward Tampa.

Detour signage will be posted to help guide motorists through the area during the nightly closures.

FDOT notes that the work schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, maintain safe speeds, and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone.
