The Florida Department of Health announced a 12th death related to the coronavirus Friday. Information as to age and gender were not included in the morning’s case information summary; it should be available later today.

Osceola now counts 554 total cases since the first case reported March 13. A majority of those have reached resolution — either a recovery or fatality. There are 141 listed hospitalizations.

At 39,199 reported cases as of this morning, the state of Florida will reach 40,000 sometime over the weekend. There have been 1,669 deaths statewide attributed to COVID-19. That’s an addition of 69 from yesterday. The number of new cases and deaths has remained stable over the last week as many parts of the state began a phased reopening of certain businesses on Monday.
