Today is April 7 — yeah, we know, it’s been hard to know what date (or day of the week) — which means it’s 4-07. That represents our longtime phone area code 407.
So it’s #407Day. It’s time to rep our local businesses. The push today is to show support for our restaurants and order takeout or delivery. It’s an effort started by Orange County and Visit Orlando, but there’s no reason why we can’t jump on the bandwagon here in Osceola County.
You’re already taking pictures of your food, so keep doing it today and post with the hashtag #407Day, and #OsceolaToGo
And, once your belly is full, it would be a good gesture to show your appreciation for the men and women on the front lines, with pictures or video in social media, on sidewalk chalk, and elsewhere using the hashtag #407DayofThanks.
It’s because of the work of first responders and hospital staff that we can even think about getting back to being who we are as a community. Help them help others — by staying at home and away from people in public, using social distancing and wearing your simple or homemade masks (leave the pro-grade equipment for the professionals who need it) when you have to be out and about — hopefully getting your food and appreciating the helpers for #407Day and #407DayofThanks.
