The Education Foundation’s 3rd annual Clay Shooting event took place last Saturday weekend at the Triple N Shooting Range  in east Osceola County, and for first time, the very successful clay shooting fundraiser had a new name, the Ken Smith Clays 4 Kids Sporting Clay Classic.

The Education Foundation proudly renamed this year’s clays tournament to the Ken Smith Clays 4 Kids Sporting Clays Classic to honor the memory of Ken Smith, past president of the Foundation.  This past Saturday, the sporting clays community came out to support Ken’s legacy and the programs that serve the students, teachers, classrooms and families across Osceola County.  The event was a huge fundraising success and we felt Ken smiling down on us Saturday.

The Education Foundation Osceola County, which was founded in 1985, strives to bring people and resources together to support and enhance public education in Osceola County. This clay shooting event raised funds to support the six programs the Education Foundation provides to students, teachers, and families of Osceola, at no cost to them. Those programs are:

  • A Gift for Teaching
  • Bookmark Buddies
  • Take Stock in Children
  • Scholarships
  • Charter Schools
  • Career Pipelines

The Ken Smith Clays 4 Kids Sporting Clays Classic was the perfect opportunity for sportsmen to show off their skills, share some great laughs, while helping raise funds for the Foundation. For more information about the Education Foundation Osceola County visit www.foundationosceola.org.
