A 39-year-old Kissimmee man died around 2:30am Sunday morning after crashing his motorcycle into a van on US 192, according to FHP.

Daniel Vargas was driving his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle at a high rate of speed eastbound on U.S. Highway 192, near Polynesian Isle Blvd, when he failed to slow as he approached a 2006 Ford van who was also in the center lane of US 192, and struck the rear of the vehicle, said FHP spokeswoman Lt. Kim Montes.

Vargas, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene, according to the crash report. The driver of the van, 55-year-old Kissimmee resident Humberto Marrero Rivera, was not injured from the crash.

The crash remains under investigation and it is not currently known whether alcohol played a part in the fatal crash.
