On Friday, the Kissimmee/ Osceola County Chamber of Commerce celebrated some very special people during their Leadership Osceola Champions Jubilee event, which honored members who have graduated in their 2021 Leadership Osceola class.

The mission of Leadership Osceola, which is part of the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce, is to Prepare, Inspire and Support Leadership for the Improved Future of Our Community.

“Through interactive programming and hands-on experiences, Leadership Osceola equips participants with the knowledge and skills to make a positive impact. We now have 33 engaged citizens better prepared to lead our community today and tomorrow, said Sue Ring, Leadership Osceola’s Program Director.

During the event, which was sponsored by KUA, the members of the class were honored for their participation and completion of the class, which typically explores ten community topics around the county during the program.

The vent was held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and featured two additional presentations, the 2021 Distinguished Leader Award and the 2021 Small Business Champion.

This year the nominees for the 2021 Distinguished Leader Award Finalist were Osceola County Tax Collector Bruce Vickers, CEO of Reach Kelly Trace, and Belinda Johnson-Cornett, CEO of Osceola County Health Service. The winner of the award was Belinda Johnson-Cornett.

The second award was the 2021 Small Business Champion. This year’s finalists were Kathy Pierson, President of Pierson Communications, Lavell Monger, Partner with RTW Photography, and Gladys Thayer, a realtor with Remax Premier Properties. This year’s winner was Kathy Pierson, President of Pierson Communications.
