KPD and the Kissimmee community are mourning the loss of a friend and beloved community member, Robert “Back-Up Bob” Tarr.

Robert “Back Up Bob” Tarr passed away peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2022.

Bob was born in Brooklyn, New York the son of George Edward and Margaret M. Schandel Tarr and moved to Kissimmee in the 1980’s.

Bob is survived by his wife: Veronica Martinez of Kissimmee, his Kissimmee family at Greenleaf A.L.F., the Kissimmee Police Department and a host of friends he made while living in Kissimmee.

The Osceola Education Foundation has set up a scholarship to send students to the Police Academy in his honor.
