A man was arrested Monday in Osceola County following a violent altercation involving a machete outside a Circle K convenience store on West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the suspect, 35-year-old Angel Ramos-Arce, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly attacking another man during a verbal argument on June 9.
A sheriff’s deputy patrolling the area was flagged down by a woman who said her brother had just been assaulted with a machete and was en route to the hospital—with the suspect. Authorities later located the victim at the hospital and confirmed that the injuries were the result of a dispute between the two men.
During the investigation, deputies discovered blood inside Ramos-Arce’s truck. A machete believed to have been used in the assault was also found in the bed of the vehicle, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Ramos-Arce was booked into the Osceola County Jail following the incident.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information related to the case to contact their non-emergency line at (407) 348-2222.
