A man from Guatemala was fatally struck by a car Wednesday evening while crossing along Osceola Parkway in Kissimmee, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the man was walking north through the intersection of Images Circle and West Osceola Parkway outside of a marked crosswalk just before 8 pm.
At the same time, a Mercedes Benz was heading east along Osceola Parkway, when the man walked into its direct path, troopers said. According to the crash report, the sedan tried to swerve, but the front right side of the car still struck the man.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP. The sedan driver was uninjured in the crash, troopers said.
