St. Cloud Mayor Nathan Blackwell in cooperation with several entities, including the City of St. Cloud, Osceola County, Cornerstone Family Church St. Cloud, the Community Hope Center and Smithfield Food Company recently aided in the distribution of donated items for citizens recently impacted by the hurricanes. Community Hope Center in Kissimmee and the St. Cloud Community Food Pantry along with other locations throughout the county received the much needed supplies.

The semi-truck load of donations came from a relatively small town in Clinton, North Carolina, population approximately 8,000. Business as well as residents of Clinton and several North Carolina Baptist Churches came together in a community effort to send aid to St. Cloud and Osceola County. The Smithfield Food Company furnished the truck and driver for transporting the food and other necessities. }

“Our own, Bill Johnston, Emergency Operations Manager for the City of St Cloud, helped to coordinate the delivery and recruitment of workers.” stated Mayor Blackwell. “A big thank you goes out to Bill and all the volunteers; this is a demonstration of strength in unity. Where there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.”
