A Kissimmee man who was reported missing in Orlando was found dead on Friday afternoon after first responders pulled the man’s submerged vehicle from a pond in Buena Ventura Lakes in Kissimmee, according to Florida Highway.
Officials said 36-year-old Jose Lebron was reported missing after having last been seen on May 15 near Ward Road and Bishop Landing Way. At the time, Lebron had been driving a 2013 Black Cadillac ATS.
According to Florida Troopers, the Cadillac was traveling southbound on Waters Edge Drive near Blue Bayou Drive but failed to negotiated a curve and drive off the roadway on the left. As a result, the car struck a utility box and drove into a pond. Lebron was trapped inside the car as began to fill with water, troopers said.
Sheriff’s Offices from Orange and Osceola Counties worked together to recover the vehicle. Lebron was pronounced dead at the scene and the crash is under investigation, including the actual time of the crash.
