Today, Orlando Health announced plans to build a new freestanding emergency room (ER) with construction to begin in 2024. Located at Lakeland Park Center, the new North Lakeland ER will have capacity for up to 24 exam rooms in a 20,800 square foot facility and include an imaging suite, lab and ambulance bay.
“Lakeland has experienced strong population growth over the last few decades,” said Matt Taylor, senior vice president of asset strategy for Orlando Health. “As a result, the demand for accessible and high-quality healthcare continues to grow in this area. Orlando Health is pleased to expand its presence and maintain its commitment to delivering exceptional care for the communities we serve,” adds Mr. Taylor.
The new free-standing emergency room will serve patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week and be fully staffed. The opening date for the new facility has not yet been announced.
