If you needed any other reason to take the response to the Coronavirus pandemic in Osceola County seriously, then here’s a loud and vivid one.
Under advisement from agencies with the State of Florida like the Department of Health, as of Saturday afternoon the Osceola County Emergency Operations Center increased its Emergency Response Status to Level 1 – Full Activation. Activating this highest level will further the ability to, in this case, bring in critical supplies needed to combat the increasing numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases in our community, now at 74 as of Saturday night.
The EOC reached Level 1 activation during recent hurricanes Dorian, Irma and Michael. At Level 1 the county EOC is staffed by emergency management personnel, and all necessary emergency support functions will be conducted, including the Executive Policy Group, who has been meeting fairly regularly
So please, if you aren’t already, Positively Osceola urges you to take this seriously, and abide by Osceola County’s 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew, it’s “Stay at Home” declaration through April 9, and the Centers for Disease Control’s guidelines for washing your hands, practicing social distancing and self-isolating if you are sick and exhibit the COVID-19 symptoms of a fever, dry cough and trouble breathing.
