The Osceola County Property Appraiser Office under Katrina Scarborough’s leadership has recertified their Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration, one of four jurisdictions nationwide to receive the CEAA and recertify twice. The office first earned the certificate in 2010, and this required recertification is a demonstration of their continued commitment to best practices.

“I am so proud of my office for their efforts in our second recertification award in the Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration for 2022. We are one of four jurisdictions nationwide to receive the CEAA and recertify twice. We will continue to adhere to the Assessment Administration’s accepted standards and best practices through excellent customer service and full transparency. Our mission is to ensure the fair and equitable assessment of properties within our county while applying the guidelines set forth by the Department of Revenue”, said Katrina Scarborough, Osceola County Property Appraiser.

IAAO’s Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration recognizes governmental units that adhere to accepted standards and integrate best practices in the workplace. This challenging and rigorous program is a self-conducted, peer-reviewed evaluation of adherence to specific, accepted assessment administration and appraisal standards as defined in the IAAO publication Assessment Practices: Self-Evaluation Guide.

This re-certification was presented during a ceremony at the IAAO 88th Annual International Conference on Assessment Administration at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts, on August 30, 2022. IAAO’s Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration is an important recognition of industry professionals who strive to meet the highest standards in their line of work. It is a great honor for IAAO to present the Osceola County Property Appraiser Office with this re-certification during the annual conference.
