Gateway head football coach Marlin Roberts, along with other Osceola County head and assistant coaches, will lead a team of senior All-Stars against a squad of Lake County standouts at the second annual Cure Bowl High School All-Star Game on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. at East Ridge High School in Lake County.

It will be the final event of the fall sports season for local high school athletes, as winter sports are now in full swing.  Here is a look around the county:

FOOTBALL: CURE BOWL ALL-STAR GAME

Roberts and county coaches met last month to paste together a roster for the upcoming all-star game.  Some of the top seniors in the county, including Osceola LB/DB Jalen Bell, Tohopekaliga running back Churandy Duval, Harmony defensive back Alex Nash, St. Cloud wide receiver Owen Conner and Poinciana defensive back Elijah Bowser are among the 45 Osceola County seniors scheduled to play in the game.

“This is a great opportunity for our county’s best seniors to get together for one last high school game for a great cause,” Roberts said.  “We had a lot of fun with it last year with the week of practices and festivities.”
