A 31-year-old Kissimmee pool service worker has been arrested by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office for his alleged involvement in a series of burglaries at the Reunion Resort.

On Friday, March 22, a family’s stay at the Reunion Resort was disrupted when they encountered a masked burglar inside their rental property. After a physical struggle with the burglary suspect the man fled the resort, prompting the family to contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

The Osceola Sheriff;’s Office Tourism Policing Unit conducted an investigation, leading to the identification and arrest of Luis Antonio Cruz-Sanchez, a local Kissimmee resident working in pool maintenance, on Wednesday, March 27.

A search of Cruz-Sanchez’s home and vehicle after the arrest revealed stolen property connected to other burglaries in the area, along with illegal narcotics.

Cruz-Sanchez has been charged with burglary with battery, grand theft from a dwelling, and resisting law enforcement without violence.

The investigation of Cruz-Sanchez’s activities is active, with the possibility of further charges. This incident underscores the need for heightened security awareness among vacation home owners and guests.
