Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended a carjacking suspect Tuesday east of St. Cloud.

Bruce Russell Hobbs, 33, was arrested and charged with carjacking, resistance without violence, and driving while license suspended with knowledge, and was transported to the Osceola County Jail.

Around 5 p.m., Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to U.S. Highway 192 near the Brevard County line in regards to a carjacking. Soon after, deputies spotted the suspect, later found out to be Hobbs, driving in from Brevard County in the stolen vehicle. Deputies were able to successfully deploy stop sticks in front of the stolen vehicle and disable it near Arthur J. Gallagher Boulevard and the entrance to Harmony high and middle school.

According to the Sheriff’s Office report, Hobbs exited the vehicle and attempted to carjack a second car, however he was quickly apprehended by deputies. He is being held with no bond.
