KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The Silver Spurs Club family and the Osceola County community are mourning the passing of Jackie Dalton, a beloved longtime member whose compassion, humility, and unwavering dedication helped shape generations of one of Florida’s most treasured rodeo organizations.
A Silver Spurs Club member for approximately 35 years and recipient of the prestigious Silver Spurs Club Women’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Jackie passed away last week, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of selfless service, enduring friendships, and an unwavering love for both her family and the Silver Spurs Club.
Although Jackie did not grow up surrounded by rodeo traditions, she found where she truly belonged after her family relocated from New York to what was then the close-knit farming community of Osceola County during her high school years. Welcomed by local families who embraced the values of agriculture, rodeo, and community, Jackie quickly discovered that the Silver Spurs Club was much more than an organization—it was a family.
Her journey with the club became deeply personal through her daughter, Heather, who competed in the Little Miss Silver Spurs Pageant and later proudly earned the title of Little Miss Silver Spurs. What began as supporting her daughter soon blossomed into a lifelong commitment to serving the organization and the countless young people who would follow in Heather’s footsteps.
Jackie became known for her calm, reassuring presence during the pageant interview process, volunteering countless hours behind the scenes. Many young contestants found comfort simply knowing Jackie was nearby, quietly offering encouragement and confidence during one of the most memorable moments of their young lives.
That spirit of service quickly grew far beyond the pageant.
Whether she was organizing committee meetings, attending rodeo practices, volunteering at fundraising events, helping with formal dinners, welcoming new families, or lending a hand wherever it was needed, Jackie became a constant and beloved presence within the Silver Spurs Club. She never sought recognition or praise, choosing instead to serve with humility and helping ensure every event reflected the welcoming, family-oriented spirit that has defined the Silver Spurs Club for generations.
For Jackie, the annual Silver Spurs Rodeo represented far more than a celebrated community tradition. It was a reunion of lifelong friends and extended family. Year after year, she cherished reconnecting with generations of members, celebrating weddings, births, graduations, accomplishments, and milestones while standing beside friends through life’s challenges. Those friendships became some of the greatest blessings of her life.
Her extraordinary dedication did not go unnoticed.
When then-Big Boss Sara Berlinsky called to tell Jackie she had been nominated and approved by the Board of Directors to receive the Silver Spurs Club Women’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Jackie initially thought there had been a mistake, joking that perhaps Sara had called the wrong person. That humble response perfectly reflected the woman so many admired. To everyone who knew Jackie, however, there was never any doubt she had earned one of the club’s highest honors through decades of faithful service, genuine kindness, and an unwavering commitment to others.
While the Silver Spurs Club occupied a special place in her heart, nothing meant more to Jackie than her family.
She was especially proud of her children—Heather, Ryan, and David—and warmly welcomed her daughters-in-law, Alisa and Michelle, as cherished members of the family. She also shared a special bond with Martin, Heather’s longtime boyfriend, who held a special place in her heart.
Jackie’s greatest joy came from spending time with her four cherished grandchildren—Kamden, Nevaeh, Kohen, and Ireland. They were the light of her life, and she treasured every opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments, cheer them on, create lasting memories together, and simply enjoy the precious moments they shared as a family.
Jackie Dalton leaves behind a legacy that extends far beyond rodeo arenas, committee meetings, and pageant stages. Her influence lives on in the countless young contestants she encouraged, the friendships she nurtured, the traditions she helped preserve, and the generations of Silver Spurs families fortunate enough to have known her.
