The Silver Spurs Rodeo, recognized for its commitment to community and philanthropy, has once again demonstrated its dedication during its 152nd edition. This year, the rodeo showcased its passion by presenting significant donations to local charities and educational programs.
On Thursday Night’s Family Night Rodeo, Harmony High School’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) program received a $2,500 donation, a gesture underscoring the rodeo’s support for agricultural education and youth development. The following night, the rodeo continued its charitable efforts by donating $5,000 to The Russell Home, a unique facility in Central Florida that provides a nurturing environment for severely disabled children. On Saturday, The Lifeboat Project, an organization dedicated to aiding victims of human trafficking, was also supported with a $5000 contribution.
These donations are reflective of the Silver Spurs Riding Club’s ethos, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to giving back to the community consistently. In a special moment on Saturday night, Sara Berlinsky accepted recognition from the National Finals Rodeo (NFR), thanking the Silver Spurs Rodeo for its 75 years of participation in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), marking another milestone for the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi.
The rodeo’s commitment extends beyond financial contributions, as evidenced by the annual “special rodeo” that will be held on Sunday for kids with special needs. This heartwarming event allowed these children to experience the thrill of the rodeo, participating in activities tailored for them, supported by Spurs members, community leaders, and rodeo queens from across North America.
As the 152nd Silver Spurs Rodeo concludes with its final events at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, it not only celebrates rodeo sports but also embodies a spirit of community support and inclusion. This year’s rodeo has set a precedent for community engagement, proving that the Silver Spurs Rodeo is about much more than competition; it’s about compassion, generosity, and building a stronger community.
