A St. Cloud man was killed and two other people were injured in a head-on crash on Simpson Road near Eagle Bay Boulevard early Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Shortly after 5:30am on Sunday morning, a 44-year-old Kissimmee man was driving a Ford F-150 south on Simpson Road when he failed to negotiate a right curve south of Eagle Bay Boulevard and veered into the northbound lane of Simpson Road, entering into the direct path of a Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 22-year-old St. Cloud woman.
The truck struck the Jetta head on, which also carried a 29-year-old passenger from St. Cloud, according to FHP. Both drivers were transported to HCA Florida Osceola Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but unfortunately, the St. Cloud man riding in the Volkswagon Jetta died at the hospital.
This crash remains under investigation.
