St. Cloud’s commitment to public safety has once again received international recognition. The St. Cloud Police Department’s 911 Communications Center has successfully renewed its accreditations as an Emergency Medical, Fire, and Police Dispatch Center of Excellence through the Board of Accreditation of the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch.
This achievement places St. Cloud among an elite group, as the city’s 911 center is one of only 12 agencies worldwide to hold triple accreditation. The designation as an Accredited Center of Excellence is the highest honor in emergency communications, requiring strict adherence to standards and continuous quality assurance. Accreditation is valid for three years, with centers required to maintain excellence throughout that period.
In 2024, the center’s dedicated staff managed more than 71,000 calls for service, supporting both the St. Cloud Police Department and St. Cloud Fire Rescue. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the center provides critical services to residents in times of need.
“We are always dedicated to providing the highest quality of public safety service to St. Cloud residents. It is an incredible testament to our amazing 911 Communications Center employees who have worked hard to achieve and maintain this high standard,” said St. Cloud Police Chief Douglas Goerke.
Residents can reach the 911 Communications Center by calling or texting 911 in emergencies, or by contacting the St. Cloud Police Department’s non-emergency line at (407) 891-6700 for less urgent matters.
With this renewed accreditation, St. Cloud continues to set the bar for excellence in emergency communication services on a global scale.
