In Super Bowl 52 that story seemed to be playing itself out once again. But the visit to Disney World wouldn’t be Tom Brady’s this year, it would be the Eagle’s QB Nick Foles who fought the Pats defense for the entire game, including a first touchdown reception, and brought home the Super Bowl victory to Philadelphia!

It was a record breaking offensive showdown with a total of over 1000 yards passing between the two teams.

Patriots QB Tom Brady was absolutely amazing, throwing for 457 yards and three TDs, but was strip-sacked of the ball by Brandon Graham with 2:09 to play, ending any hope of a sixth Super Bowl ring for New England.

The Patriots dominated most of the second half play by scoring touchdowns on their first three second-half drives, rallying from a 29-19 deficit to take a 33-32 lead with 9:22 to play. But Foles led the Eagles on a 14-play, 75-yard drive that ended with  an 11-yard touchdown throw to Zach Ertz with 2:21 to play for the winning TD. The reception was reviewed to ensure the TD call, and the call stood to add 6 to the Eagles who went for a 2 point conversion in hopes to make it a 7 point game. Unfortunately for the Eagles the attempt failed, opening the door for Brady’s magic.

Two plays later, Graham made one of the few standout defensive plays in a game dominated by offense.

Jake Elliott provided the final margin with a 46-yard field goal with 1:06 to play. Philadelphia pinned New England back on their own nine-yard line on the ensuing kickoff and Brady could only move the Patriots 40 of the required 91 yards as a final Hail Mary pass fell short. Congratulations Philadelphia!
