The parade, held Saturday, December 13, drew families from across Osceola County and beyond, with spectators lining Broadway, Sproule Street, Church Street, and Stewart Avenue several rows deep. Glowing floats, marching groups, costumed performers, and community organizations rolled through downtown, bringing holiday cheer to a crowd energized by the city’s festive momentum.

The Festival of Lights Parade marked the culmination of a carefully curated holiday season that began weeks earlier. On November 29, the City of Kissimmee officially kicked off the season with its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the City Hall Rain Garden. Residents and visitors gathered for live holiday performances, festive treats, and a countdown led by city leaders as the city’s Christmas tree was illuminated for the first time this year, complete with a special visit from Santa.

Holiday excitement continued on December 5 with KUA Movie in the Park at Kissimmee Lakefront Park. Families spread out blankets and chairs for an evening of free entertainment, including inflatables, crafts, a photo booth, prize giveaways, and a holiday movie shown under the stars — reinforcing downtown Kissimmee as a hub for family-friendly seasonal fun.

The night before the parade, Downtown Kissimmee embraced a different kind of holiday spirit with the Jingle Bar Hop on December 12, hosted by Kissimmee Main Street. The festive pub crawl invited participants to sip, stroll, and celebrate from venue to venue, showcasing downtown’s nightlife while adding an adults-only holiday tradition to the season’s lineup.

On parade night, the celebration began hours before the first float rolled, with a Holiday Festival at Kissimmee City Hall. Families gathered for photos with Santa, holiday activities, seasonal entertainment, and interactive experiences such as the KUA Kids Power Zone, creating a lively prelude to the evening’s main event.

At 7:30 p.m., the Festival of Lights Parade officially stepped off, lighting up downtown streets as cheers and holiday music echoed through the crowd. The event once again highlighted the strength of community involvement, with local schools, businesses, and organizations coming together to celebrate the season in the heart of the city.

Beyond a single night, the parade reflected the City of Kissimmee’s continued commitment to making downtown a brilliantly lit holiday destination. From illuminated public spaces to a calendar of diverse events, the city’s holiday programming invited residents and visitors to return downtown again and again throughout the season.

As the final floats passed and the lights dimmed, one thing was clear: the Festival of Lights Parade was more than a tradition — it was the crowning moment of a holiday season that showcased Kissimmee’s spirit, creativity, and dedication to bringing the community together.
