On Saturday, the City of St. Cloud hosted a special birthday bash at Cannery Park to celebrate the first birthday of its beloved mascot, Sami the Sandhill Crane. The event was a joyous occasion filled with laughter, fun, and community spirit.

Sami’s Birthday Bash was a star-studded affair, featuring appearances from several local mascots. Among the special guests were Swish from the Osceola Magic, Hydro from Toho Water Authority, and mascots from St. Cloud Police, St. Cloud Fire Rescue, and Chick-fil-A. The mascots entertained the crowd with a lively chicken dance, much to the delight of attendees.

Sami the Sandhill Crane made his first public appearance during St. Cloud’s Annual Tree Lighting Celebration in front of City Hall. Since that memorable night, Sami has become a crowd favorite, particularly among children, attending and dancing at numerous St. Cloud events throughout the year.

The birthday bash was not only a celebration of Sami’s first year but also a testament to the strong community spirit in St. Cloud and featured various activities including free kids’ health screenings provided by AdventHealth, and, of course, birthday cake for everyone to enjoy.

From Positively Osceola, Happy Birthday to Sami the Sandhill Crane!
