The Osceola Magic basketball the team unveiled their new court design during a special event at Osceola Heritage Park’s Silver Spurs Arena on Tuesday that featured a ribbon cutting, locker room tour. The Orlando Magic’s G League team will hit the hardwood for the first time at OHP on November 16. Tickets are on sale now at OsceolaMagic.com.

“On behalf of the Board of County Commissioners, I’m happy to be in front of you today not only as County Commission Chairwoman but also as a Magic “fanatic!” I want to welcome the entire Magic G League organization to their new home,” said Janer. “The Magic have quite a following known for their unwavering dedication and passion. We hope to nurture those kinds of fans here, too. Today, we welcome the Magic family to Osceola and we take pride in being part of that family.”

“We extend our gratitude to the entire Magic organization. Your passion for the game and your belief in the potential of our community have driven this project forward,” said Larson. “A special thank you is due to the remarkable staff here at OHP. Your hard work, dedication, and meticulous attention to detail have ensured that every aspect of the upcoming Magic season is nothing short of a winner. And, of course, a special acknowledgment is due to Osceola County for their unwavering support in making this dream a reality. Their commitment to providing a world-class home for the Osceola Magic is truly commendable.”

Some of those experienced players that will make their appearance at Osceola Heritage Park include DJ Wilson, a 27-year-old former first round pick of the Milwaukee Bucks. Wilson has 146 games of NBA experience – where he averaged 4.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.  He split time last year between Oklahoma in the G-League and the Toronto Raptors, where he played in four games.

Another veteran looking to make his mark is Mac McClung, who originally signed with the Los Angeles Lakers after going undrafted out of Texas Tech in 2021.  The 6-2 McClung was a two-way player (contract which allows movement between NBA and G-League rosters) with the Philadelphia 76ers last season and became an internet sensation when he won the Slam Dunk Contest at the NBA All-Star game.  He also scored 10 points that weekend in the NBA Rising Stars Game.

“We are excited to be able to recognize some of our great partners as we unveil our court through this ribbon cutting today,” said Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins. “We would like to thank Osceola County Chairwoman Viviana Janer, County Manager Don Fisher and Osceola Heritage Park General Manager Robb Larson for their amazing partnership. We are thrilled to have moved our NBA G League Operations here to Silver Spurs Arena with our Opening Night on Thursday, November 16 and could not have done so without the hard work from our great partners previously mentioned, as well as the collaboration with Quinn Commercial, ZHA, and T&G for the incredible work on our locker room and office space.”

The Osceola Magic will officially tip off the 2023-24 season on the road on Friday, November 10, against the Mexico City Capitanes and Thursday, Nov. 16, at home against the Texas Legends. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a replica jersey and all fans will receive free parking.
