KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Gaylord Palms Resort will bring The Polar Express back to Central Florida this holiday season as the theme of its signature ICE! attraction, part of the resort’s annual Christmas celebration running Nov. 13, 2026, through Jan. 3, 2027.

The 20,000-square-foot immersive attraction will feature 11 larger-than-life scenes inspired by the animated holiday film, all hand-carved from ice and displayed inside an environment kept at a chilly 9 degrees.

A team of 40 master ice artisans from Harbin, China, will spend more than a month creating the frozen attraction, transforming blocks of ice into characters and scenes from the movie.

Visitors will follow the story of a young boy who boards a mysterious train on Christmas Eve for a journey to the North Pole. Featured scenes will include the train arriving at the Hero Boy’s home, the well-known hot chocolate scene, the train’s icy mountain adventure and its arrival at the North Pole.

The sculptures will be illuminated with colorful lighting and LEDs throughout the walk-through experience.

Also returning this year is the attraction’s popular slide room, featuring five two-story-tall ice slides in Glacier Gulch.

The Polar Express was last featured as the theme of ICE! at Gaylord Palms in 2019.

Guests entering the attraction will receive Gaylord Palms’ signature blue parkas, although additional winter clothing is recommended because of the 9-degree temperature.

ICE! will serve as the centerpiece of a larger lineup of holiday activities throughout the resort’s 65-acre property. Other attractions will include ice tubing on Snow Flow Mountain, Snowball Build and Blast, a new Christmas Carousel, photos with Santa, holiday shows and displays throughout the atrium, and shopping at Market Square.

Tickets and holiday packages are now available, with advance reservations recommended because capacity is limited for some experiences.
