Celebration High School’s football home preseason Kickoff Classic opener had an extra spark of excitement on Friday, August 15, when THE ROAR of the Jaguars — the official cheerleading squad of the Jacksonville Jaguars — made a surprise appearance under the Friday Night Lights.
The special visit, coordinated through Experience Kissimmee’s ongoing partnership with the Jaguars, highlighted a shared commitment to uplifting local communities while promoting youth sports and leadership.
Joining forces with the CHS cheer squad, THE ROAR cheerleaders brought energy and enthusiasm to the sidelines, leading the team onto the field through the tunnel and joining in for the school fight song. For students, athletes, and fans alike, the moment added an unforgettable boost of hometown pride.
This stop at Celebration High was just one highlight of THE ROAR’s annual retreat in Kissimmee. While in town, the cheerleaders mixed up drinks during a mocktail class at Melia Orlando Resort, took in the sights and wildlife on an airboat ride at Wild Florida Adventure Park, and capped off their visit with a lively watch party at Eagles Edge at Omni Orlando at ChampionsGate for the Jaguars’ preseason game against the New Orleans Saints.
“We have enjoyed working with the Jaguars and THE ROAR over the last two seasons. We both love supporting local communities and youth sports, so bringing them to Celebration, in Kissimmee, aligns perfectly with our partnership,” said Jessica Beers, Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships at Experience Kissimmee. “This surprise and delight was a wonderful idea for our local community, and we are thrilled to make this happen.”
For many of the Jaguars cheerleaders, stepping onto the CHS field was a homecoming of sorts.
“Visiting CHS was a full circle moment for so many of our cheerleaders who began their journey to THE ROAR as high school cheerleaders,” said Christy Stechman Zynda, Director of Entertainment Groups and Grassroots Events for the Jacksonville Jaguars. “Our annual team retreat with Experience Kissimmee continues to be a much-anticipated event, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share in the excitement of Celebration’s home opener.”
