The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of two of its employees following separate criminal investigations into unauthorized access of computer systems and electronic databases.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, an internal investigation began on July 15, 2025, involving 65-year-old Cassandra Wirthlin, a civilian employee who had served as a Digital Evidence Specialist for more than eight years. Investigators determined that Wirthlin knowingly accessed computer systems and electronic databases without authorization, obtaining information unrelated to her assigned duties or any official casework.
Her actions violated agency protocols and Florida laws governing computer systems and electronic records. Wirthlin resigned from her position on July 17, while still under investigation. A warrant was issued on July 23, charging her with four counts of Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device and four counts of Unauthorized Access to a Computer System. She turned herself in to the Osceola County Jail the same evening.
In a separate case, an ongoing investigation led to charges against 30-year-old Deputy Kyle Henry, who had been with OCSO since October 2021 and was assigned to Community Outreach Services. Authorities say that in May 2024, Henry also knowingly accessed computer systems and databases without authorization, gathering information not related to his official duties.
Deputy Henry was placed on administrative leave on June 23, 2025. Following the investigation, a warrant was issued on July 29, charging him with one count of Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device and three counts of Unauthorized Access to a Computer System. He was arrested without incident and booked into the Osceola County Jail on July 30.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that these actions represent a direct violation of both agency policies and state law, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and accountability.
