The NCAA has determined that UCF Knights kicker Donald De La Haye will no longer eligible to play football after he continued to monetize his YouTube videos.

UCF made every effort to allow Donald De La Haye the opportunity to retain his eligibility to play NCAA Football at UCF and still be allowed to produce videos for YouTube by submitting a waiver to the NCAA on his behalf. The waiver was granted by the NCAA that stated that De La Haye could maintain his NCAA eligibility and continue to profit on his videos as long as they did not reference his status as a student-athlete or show off his football skills or abilities.

The waiver did allow De La Haye to create videos that referenced his status as a student-athlete or show off his football skill or abilities as long as they were posted on a non-monetized based Youtube account.

De La Haye chose not to accept the conditions of the waiver and therefore has been ruled ineligible to play in NCAA-sanctioned competition.

UCF Athletics wished Donald De La Haye the best in his future endeavors.
