KENANSVILLE, Fla. — Wild Florida Adventure Park is taking its commitment to wildlife and the Osceola County community beyond the boundaries of its Kenansville attraction through Wild Florida Cares, a nonprofit initiative focused on conservation, community support and educational opportunities for local students.
Created as a way for Wild Florida to give back to the community it calls home while supporting wildlife conservation efforts locally and around the world, Wild Florida Cares provides assistance to a variety of organizations and causes while also offering annual scholarships to Osceola County high school seniors.
“We created this foundation as a way to give back to the animals we love, the community we live in, and the ecosystem we all enjoy,” said PJ Brown of Wild Florida. “It gives us a true purpose to strive to make the world a better place and help the rising generations become successful.”
The organization’s conservation efforts extend to groups working to protect some of the world’s most recognizable and threatened species. Wild Florida Cares has supported organizations including Friends of the Florida Panther, Crocfest, the Lemur Conservation Foundation, the Giraffe Conservation Foundation and APPCPanama.
Closer to home, the nonprofit supports Osceola County initiatives addressing education, elder care and hunger relief, expanding Wild Florida’s community involvement beyond its work in wildlife education and conservation.
Education is also a significant part of the organization’s mission. Through its scholarship program, Wild Florida Cares helps graduating Osceola County students continue their education and work toward their future goals.
“I am so appreciative of all Wild Florida’s efforts to give back to the community,” said scholarship recipient and Valencia College student Norah Baker. “As a recipient of the Wild Florida Cares Scholarship, I can further my education and achieve my goals.”
Located along Lake Cypress in Kenansville, Wild Florida is known for introducing residents and visitors to Central Florida’s natural environment through its airboat tours, animal encounters, Gator Park and expansive Drive-thru Safari Park.
Through Wild Florida Cares, that connection to Florida’s wildlife and natural resources is being transformed into another kind of impact — supporting conservation, strengthening the local community and helping the next generation pursue its future.
