A traffic crash claimed the lives of a woman, a baby, and two children Sunday evening in Poinciana, FHP says.

According to Florida troopers, the crash took place just before 7 pm after a Chevy sedan—driven by a 15-year-old failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Laurel Avenue and San Miguel Street.

The front of the teen’s vehicle struck the left side of an SUV, driven by a 50-year-old woman from Poinciana. The impact of the crash caused the SUV to spin out and collide into a light pole before coming to a stop in the grass.

The woman driving the SUV and a child were pronounced deceased at the scene. A 52-year-old male and another child in the SUV were taken to the hospital, where the child was later pronounced dead. The three children were between the ages of 1 and 11. The man was said to have serious injuries, per FHP.

FHP says the teen driver who failed to stop at the stop sign was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The three passengers in that vehicle, all who were 15-years-old, were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according FHP’s crash report.

The crash remains under investigation.
