Time is ticking down for players to get their tickets for tonight’s Powerball drawing. The jackpot is currently estimated at $1.4 billion. The jackpot has an estimated cash value of $614 million.

Saturday’s estimated jackpot ranks as the third-largest Powerball jackpot and fifth-largest U.S. lottery jackpot. Final ticket sales will determine if the Powerball jackpot climbs beyond its estimate, and game leaders anticipate the majority of ticket purchases will happen on Saturday in the final hours leading up to the drawing.

“This has become another top-charting jackpot in the Powerball game, and we’ve had several factors align at the right time to be able to support back-to-back billion-dollar jackpots in a matter of months,” said Drew Svitko, Powerball Product Group Chair and Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director. “While dreaming about winning a billion-dollar Powerball jackpot is exciting, please remember to play responsibly and sign your ticket. We look forward to drawing the winning numbers!”

The estimated jackpot is Powerball’s largest prize so far this year, outranking the $1.08 billion Powerball jackpot won in California on July 19. Since then, there have been 33 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner, marking the first time in Powerball’s 31-year history that back-to-back jackpot cycles have generated billion-dollar grand prizes.

Tonight’s Powerball drawing will be held at the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee at approximately 10:59 p.m. EST. The drawing will be broadcast by select carrier TV stations and live streamed on Powerball.com. Ticket sale cut-off times vary by jurisdiction, but typically occur 1-2 hours before the scheduled draw time.

The Powerball jackpot last rolled Wednesday night, after no ticket matched all six number drawn – white balls 9, 35, 54, 63, 64 and red Powerball 1. The Power Play® multiplier was 2X. Despite there being no jackpot winner, more than 3.2 million tickets won cash prizes in the drawing, including ten tickets that won prizes worth $1 million or more.

Powerball tickets are $2 per play. Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. More than half of all proceeds from the sale of a Powerball ticket remain in the jurisdiction where the ticket was sold. Powerball drawings are broadcast live every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. EST from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. Powerball drawings are also live streamed on Powerball.com.

The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
