A 15-year-old St. Cloud High School student was arrested on Thursday after he grabbed one of the school resources that was attempting to break up a fight, according to St. Cloud PD.

School Resource Officer Ball was attempting to break up the fight between two male students on Thursday when a third male student (aged 15 years) approached and grabbed Officer Ball around the torso. From the ensuing struggle Officer Ball and the third student ended up on the ground, with the student continuing to fight and resist. With the assistance of bystanders the student was able to be brought under control.

The student was arrested for battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and resisting arrest with violence before being taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center in Orlando. Neither Officer Ball or the student were injured during the incident.

No other arrests were made at the time but charges including battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and resisting arrest without violence will be filed to the State Attorney’s Office on two other male students (both aged 14 years) for their part in the incident.
