Seventeen year old Joyvan Ventura Villafane died after being struck by a vehicle as he was walking on the shoulder of the Orange Blossom Trail in Intercession City in Osceola County on Saturday night, the Florida Highway Patrol has reported.

Joyvan Ventura Villafanem, who was to be a senior at Poinciana High School this year, was walking on the right paved shoulder of Orange Blossom Trail near Hope Street just before 10 p.m. Saturday night when a vehicle left the road and struck him, leaving him on the side of the road to die. Florida Highway Patrol Troopers said the driver left the scene of the accident without stopping to help Villafane.

The  vehicle involved may be  a dark-colored SUV or sedan with damage on the right side of its front end from the hit and run incident.
