Two men on a motorcycle died late Wednesday after being rear-ended by an SUV on Narcoosssee Rd at Boggy Creek near the Orange-Osceola county line, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal crash took place around 11:10 p.m. Wednesday on Narcoosee Road at Boggy Creek Road when a 2015 Dodge Durango driven by a 50-year-old St. Cloud man was driving south on Narcoossee and failed to slow down as it approached the motorcycle, striking the back of a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle.

The crash ejected both men off the motorcycle, which became embedded in the Durango, according to FHP. Both riders were pronounced dead at the scene. The FHP identified one victim on the motorcycle as a 56-year-old Orlando man. The other rider on the motorcycle has not yet been identified, troopers said.

The driver of the Durango, which caught fire after it veered off the road and crashed, was taken to Lake Nona VA Hospital with serious injuries, according to an FHP crash report. Narcoossee Rd was closed through the night for the investigation, and reopened Thursday morning around 8am.

No other details have been released.
