Positively Osceola asked a number of positive leaders in the community to share their hope and plans for the new year, and how we can encourage and support each other in 2023. We asked RaeLynne Kempfer, the 2022 Miss Silver Spurs to share her hope and outlook for 2023.

The year 2022 changed my life immensely. I was honored to win the title of Miss Silver Spurs in June, I started my senior year of high school in August, I became a legal adult in November, I got my first college acceptance letter in December, and I formed tons of new friendships throughout!

As we enter 2023, my excitement only grows for the upcoming Silver Spurs Rodeo in February. It has been a long-time dream of mine to carry the American flag in the grand entry as Miss Silver Spurs. Along with that, I am extremely excited for queen week where I will have the opportunity to promote the sport of rodeo alongside rodeo queens from across the nation, as well as Miss Rodeo America herself! I will also be showing and selling my last market steer at the fair, which is something I will definitely miss.

Although I am a little nervous about going to college and being on my own after graduation, I know that I will always have my huge support system behind me. Another challenge I am going to face this year will be giving up the title of Miss Silver Spurs, but I know that the next young lady who is selected will do an amazing job and will have the opportunity to enjoy the best year of her life, just as I know I have.

Although it is hard to believe that 2022 has come to an end, I’m nothing but excited to see what 2023 has in store for me!

With love,

RaeLynne Kempfer
