A twenty-year-old Kissimmee man is behind bars after detectives with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office linked him to multiple instances of online child sexual abuse material.
According to investigators, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted the Sheriff’s Office after receiving 18 cyber tips involving a suspect sharing and soliciting illegal material online. The case was assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children unit, which launched an investigation.
On Monday, October 27, ICAC detectives executed a search warrant at a home in the Doral Pointe community of Kissimmee, where they identified 21-year-old Javier Colon-Soto as the suspect. Evidence gathered during the search led to Colon-Soto being charged with 23 counts of possessing photo or video content depicting the sexual performance of a child, along with unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
Colon-Soto was taken into custody and booked into the Osceola County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and encourage anyone with information related to this case—or similar incidents—to contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office at 407-348-2222.
