Osceola Council on Aging’s MEALS ON WHEELS program is a service that provides homebound seniors and disabled adults throughout the community with two nutritious meals (one hot meal and one cold meal).  The meals are prepared in the Osceola Council on Aging’s kitchen and are delivered by dedicated and caring volunteers.

Osceola Council on Aging is looking for volunteers to assist with the Meals on Wheels program and help end senior hunger in Osceola County. By becoming a volunteer you are not only delivering meals but joy and hope to local seniors.

To qualify as a Meals on Wheels Volunteer you must meet the following criteria:

  • Fill out an application and receive a background check
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Have your own transportation
  • Be willing to commit 1 hour a week
  • And have a BIG HEART

Osceola Council on Aging is currently serving 285 seniors throughout Osceola County. There are 31 routes: 11 in St. Cloud, 17 in Kissimmee including Celebration, 2 in Poinciana and 1 in Intercession City and Campbell City. The Osceola Council on Aging is in need of volunteers to help fill 8 of those routes.

This is a perfect opportunity to get the family involved with Meals on Wheel this summer. We are very accommodating when it comes to providing routes near our volunteers’ homes. There will be a one-time ride along with our new volunteers to familiarise them with their route. The smile on our seniors’ faces is the most rewarding part of volunteering with this program.
