The Florida Highway Patrol has officially driven into the history books. On Tuesday, the American Association of State Troopers named the Florida Highway Patrol the 2025 winner of its annual America’s Best Looking Cruiser Contest — marking an unprecedented third consecutive victory for the Sunshine State.
This year’s winning entry featured FHP’s sleek black and tan Corvette cruiser framed by a vibrant Miami sunset and the city’s iconic skyline, capturing not just the strength and energy of the state, but also its unique beauty. The image will now be featured on the cover of the 2026 AAST America’s Best Looking Cruiser Calendar, with calendar proceeds supporting scholarships for children of state troopers nationwide.
“Florida is a state filled with pride and support for our law enforcement officers, and this historic, first ever three-peat is a reflection of that,” said Dave Kerner, Executive Director of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV). “I’m incredibly proud of our troopers, staff, and the support we’ve received from the public and our partners statewide. The Florida Highway Patrol ‘Black and Tan’ IS the nation’s BEST LOOKING CRUISER.”
The annual AAST contest, which kicked off June 30, drew a record 49 participating states this year. After two weeks of intense online voting, Florida emerged on top in one of the closest finishes in contest history.
“The AAST Best Looking Cruiser competition is a great way for our State Troopers across the nation to connect with those we serve,” added FHP Colonel Gary Howze. “This win is for everyone that participated — and for the public, who benefit every day from strong partnerships and a shared commitment to public safety. Thank you, Florida, for making history with us!”
