KISSIMMEE — Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to a fatal crash Thursday afternoon that occurred at approximately 4:48 p.m. in the westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 192 (West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway) near Parkway Boulevard in Kissimmee.
According to troopers, the crash involved a 2022 Honda CBR1000 motorcycle and a 2017 Lexus RX. Investigators have confirmed that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran a red light before colliding with the Lexus in the intersection.
The rider of the motorcycle, whose identity is pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver and passenger of the Lexus were not transported and remained on scene as investigators worked to piece together the events leading up to the crash.
The westbound lanes of U.S. 192 were temporarily closed as emergency crews and investigators responded, causing significant traffic delays through the area during the evening commute.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident, collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine all contributing factors in the fatal collision.
Motorists are urged to drive responsibly, obey posted traffic signals, and remain alert — particularly along heavily traveled corridors like U.S. 192.
