Native to South America, capybaras are semi-aquatic animals that are perfectly suited for spending time both on land and in the water. Their partially webbed feet help make them strong swimmers, and when temperatures rise, finding a comfortable spot in the water is often exactly where a capybara wants to be.
Capybaras are also highly social animals and commonly live in groups in the wild. Their generally calm appearance and unusual size have helped make them one of the most recognizable — and increasingly popular — animals on the internet.
But seeing a capybara on a screen isn’t quite the same as meeting one in person.
At Wild Florida’s Gator Park, visitors can see capybaras while exploring a park filled with more than 200 native and exotic animals.
