Halloween is creeping closer, and several Central Florida destinations are preparing to celebrate with everything from spooky cocktails and family trick-or-treating to costume parties, pumpkin painting and a Halloween-themed car show.
Beginning in September and continuing through Halloween, The Edison, Kings Orlando and Promenade at Sunset Walk will roll out seasonal experiences designed for both families looking for Halloween fun and adults searching for something a little more spirited.
Sunset Walk Brings Candy, Cars and Halloween Fun to Kissimmee
Closer to home, Promenade at Sunset Walk in Kissimmee will bring together candy, cars, costumes and entertainment during its free “Trunk or Treat” Trick-or-Treating & Car Show on Saturday, October 24, from 4 to 8 p.m.
The outdoor event begins at 4 p.m., with trick-or-treating starting at 5 p.m. Participating vehicles will hand out candy while supplies last as Halloween-themed cars and trucks compete for Top 5 Merchant’s Choice trophies.
The evening will also feature live music and street performers, while visitors can explore more than 30 restaurants, shops and entertainment experiences throughout Sunset Walk.
Halloween festivities at Sunset Walk won’t be limited to one evening. From October 16 through October 30, guests can take part in pumpkin painting from 4 to 7 p.m., with a complimentary paint kit included with each pumpkin purchase.
Admission and parking for the Sunset Walk festivities are free, and pets are welcome. Outside food, beverages and coolers are not permitted.
The Edison Transforms Into a Spooky Speakeasy
From September 1 through October 31, The Edison will give its signature 1920s speakeasy atmosphere a haunting makeover while introducing three limited-time Halloween cocktails.
The seasonal lineup includes The Alleycat ($19), made with Dos Hombres tequila, orange juice, agave nectar, lime juice and a beet juice float, served alongside a vial of “blood.”
Guests can also try Hallowed By Thy Grove ($18), featuring Dos Hombres mezcal and tequila, crème de mûre, barrel-aged maple syrup, lemon, lime, cardamom bitters and blackberry.
Rounding out the Halloween menu is the Blood Donor ($20), combining Bacardi Superior, Aperol, Solerno blood orange liqueur and lime juice.
With Halloween events beginning as early as September, Central Florida residents and visitors will have plenty of opportunities to celebrate spooky season — whether that means sipping a haunting cocktail, filling a candy bag, painting a pumpkin or checking out a lineup of Halloween-themed cars.
